Mariam Gates is the bestselling author of the Good Night Yoga series and many more books on mindfulness, yoga, and social-emotional learning for young people. She holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and has years of experience in the classroom as a special education teacher.

Mariam and her work have been featured in numerous publications, including Parents, Time for KIDS, and New York Magazine. As a Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness expert, she teaches children and adults at workshops and conferences around the country.

Her books have been translated into over 17 languages, and she is a sought-after presenter for schools, teacher organizations, and conferences.

As a child, all Mariam ever wanted was to write children’s books. For her, they were portals to magic, possibility and wonder. She believes children’s books are to kids what great art is to adults—a way to feel seen, understood and inspired.

“If someone writes a book and you connect with it,” she says, “then there are at least two of us. Two of us sharing this laugh, this perspective, this connection. Books create this space to grow, to travel, to experience, and to feel your place in the world..”
